Two psychologists have linked "being nice" with having receptors for two certain hormones, oxytocin and vasopressin. In the lab, oxytocin created better sociability. This is very interesting. We may inherit being nice? What would happen if these psychologists have really found the "niceness gene"?
There's a great TED talk about oxytocin and trustworthiness/morality.

The researcher found that putting people on oxytocin makes them more trusting and generous and that people who don't produce oxytocin tend to be greedier.
Everyone produces Oxytocin and Vasopressin in varying degrees. Oxytocin levels increase in women during cervical dilation and nursing.Making them feel attached to their mate and children. Which is good! I dont think Black Widow spiders produce Oxytocin. Praying Mantis either.
